One of Disney Junior's newest properties has been in production hell for years and now after four years of lazines and idiocracy, the final of Disney Junior's first Disneyland Resort commissions is finally here! Disney Junior is slated to premiere Hey A.J.!, created by Phineas and Ferb co-creator Jeff Swampy Marsh based on the best selling books from a former NFL player on Tuesday, January 13th, 2026 at 10am ET, with the first ten episodes releasing next day on the Disney+ SVOD streamer.
The new series marks a first in PLayhouse Disney and Disney Junior's 30-year catalog, as the new series starring recording artist Meghan Trainer is the first in the Disney preschool channels' history to have a marathon be the official series premiere, with the first seven episodes of the show all being broadcasted on the same date between 10:00am/9:00c to 1:00pm/12:00c (ET/PT)
The new series completes Disney Junior's first Fun Fest convention content slate when the three-day preschool television network celebration first took effect at Disneyland's California Adventure area back in the early spring of April 2022, alongside three other new originals, Kindergarten School Musical, which is a Disney Jr. ripoff cash grab being offensive to the greatest DCOM franchise known to man, High School Musical which has also gotten a TV show adaptation, RoboGobo which is due for its second season premiere as part of Disney-ABC's annual 25 Days of Christmas holiday programming and SuperKitties which is currently set to end after the fourth season.
For its second round running from 2025-2028, Disney Jr. will premiere five new original series, Magicampers, Duffy and Friends, Sam Witch, Avengers: Mightiest Friends and Cars: Lightning Racers, the new reboot series Sofia the First: Sofia's Royal Magic, a second and third season of their greatest revival masterpiece to date, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+ 2.0, the new original Christmas special Dasher and the 100th episode of MARVL's Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends due for release on Disney Jr. next month, as well as a second Avengers Team Up! crossover special later in 2026.
