Disney Channel Germany Goes Bankrupt Off The Air As Disney Announces Launch of NEW European Cable Channel Disney TV Launching This Holiday Season

It's one of the biggest shakeups of Disney linear television history in 77 years as the German clone of Disney Channel in Germany, Switzerland and Austria (GSA/Deutschland) is about to go off the air and bankrupt shutting down after 27 years off the air. Disney has announced the launch of a brand new exclusive European cable channel called Disney TV which is slated to launch over the Christmas holiday season premiering on Tuesday, December 1st, 2026.

The new channel is the first of its kind of Disney in its 104 years of existance as for the first time ever,a. linear Disney-branded channel will broadcast adult oriented progrramming full of unreasonable violence, hyper realistic blood and swear words with the German linear Disney broadcast of programming and movies from Disney's other owned companies and sister channels including ABC, ABC Freeform, FX, Fox Network, National Geographic TV and the Disney+ invasion of Hulu.

It brings to an end 27 years of Disney Channel's German feed and an end to five incredible decades and over 50 broadcasting in Germany first beginning in 1976 on German PBS station AFD with a program called Walt Disney's World hosted by Peter Alexander and finally with the launch of Disney Channel Germany releasing on Saturday October 16, 1999.

The German feeds of Disney Junior and Disney XD will remain unchanged and remain on the air.

Most Tragic Week In Hollywood As Three Film, TV and Music Icons Die In The Same Week Alone

It is one of the most strngest weeks of celebrity deaths in the history of world multimedia as this past week saw us witnessing the death of killing three birds in one stone with the sudden passings of country music pioneer Dolly Parton, film & TV star Tim Curry and Disney Legend Peter Cullen who have all recently passed away at the ages of 80-85 years old respctively.

Dolly Parton was one of the first country music idols and pioneers in western music history breaking out decades of iconic hits like "Jolene", "Working 9 to 5", "Love is Like AButterfly" and "I Will Always Love You" made popular with the viral memed cover of Whitney Houston in the 1992 theatrical cult classic The Bodyguard. She also had the legend of collaborating with famous kids media brands including Barney, Sesame Street, Mickey Mouse and The Magic School Bus. Her last hurrah in showbiz came out last year in March 2025 with the release of The Wiggles country album Wiggle Up, GIddy Up which included a Wiggles ripoff of her iconic 80s pop hits and a newly written song by the country idol called "Friends!" and its Type B variation "Friends of Dorothy"

Tim Curry was made famous as one of the most iconic stars in Hollywood history with iconic roles such as Home Alone II: Lost in New York (1992) and The Muppet Movie 6: Muppet Treasure Ialnd (1997) but it all went wrong when he took on the role of Pennywise the jumpscaring clown in Stephen King's spooky horror movie IT (2017) which has been considered one of the worst horror movies and novels ever made.

Peter Cullen has been the iconic voice behind Optimus Prime in Transformers and the miserable donkey Eeyore in Winnie the Pooh from the very beginning since both franchise's audiovisual departments were first launched in 1966 and 1984 respectively. Optimus Prime's former sidekick Frank Welker better known these days as the frontman of Scooby-Doo and the voice of animal SFX alongside Dee Bradley Baker had recently reunited with his former Autobot nemesis for one last time with the launch of the upcoming posthumous short Optimus Prime: Awakening which is due to release as the post credits short film of the newly remastered Transformers: The Movie being rereleased in September for the film's unhistoric ruby 40th anniversary celebration as one last funeral hurrah and salute to this unforgetable man.

RIP to this trio of iconic stars and thanks for the memories. You will be deeply missed.
