PBS Kids Across America - PBS Kids and WGBH Boston Launch New Two-Month Marketing Campaign To Celebrate America's Quarter-Millennium Anniversary; Running May 1-July 4, 2026

In ye olde 1776 and 1787, Benjamin Franklin, Phillip Livingstein, John Adams, Roger Sherman and Thomas Jefferson wrote and signed two documents by a combined tribe of 1600 people called The Declaration of Independence and The Constitution and a new country was formed, The United States of North America and a nation of American freedom was born. To celebrate the unbelievable milestone of the bicentennial 250th anniversary of our star-spangled striped nation of freedom, PBS Kids and their Massachusetts affiliate WGBH Boston have designed a new marketing campaign fit for the special occasion called the PBS Kids Across America campaign trail.

Over the next two months, PBS Kids will debut new series, episodes and hour-long specials to celebrate 250 years of the 50 stars states and 13 stripes colonies that make up our beloved country to help brighten the education and entertainment of youngsters from sea to shining sea. The celebration will last for two months on the network across linear and streaming, kicking off on Friday, May 1st and wrapping up on the birthdate of the country itself on Saturday, July 4th.

Kicking off the celebration is a new original movie Wowsabout all new from the incredible living legends of The Jim Henson Company. This new special will introduce children to some of the greatest features and landmarks across our nation with a whole slew of new puppet friends.

Then launching on May 22nd, PBS Kids and WGBH Boston Kids will debut their newest miniseries America's Awesome Kids made exclusively for the channel's website (www.pbskids.org). The new 20-episode miniseries introduces viewers to kids just like you who will introduce us to some of the most incredible patriotic things that they're able to accomplish at a young age.

On June 12th, PBS Kids' award-winning series City Island returns for a new season of episodes with a brand new "City Island: USA!" story arc in which the City Island marooners will be transported to some of the most incredible historical places in America's 25 decade history. The new collection of episodes will be broadcasted on PBS Kids' website and a limited linear run on local PBS Kids stations.

Then a history-making moment of children's television on June 15th with the hour-long series finale of the award-winning Native American curriculum series Molly of Denali with the two-part finale special "Happy Birthday, Oyah!" in which Molly and her friends celebrate Oyah's birthday. The series was cancelled in summer 2025 after PBS Kids' parent company, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting went bankrupt as punishment for PBS being racist to President Donald J. Trump by making that infamous parody episode of Sesame Street being rude to him back in 2005.

And finally rounding out, PBS Kids' most laziest schedule release ever, the time travelling extravaganza Xavier Riddle and the Secret Museum from 9 Story Entertainment Media Group and Brown Bag Films finishes the campaign off with the four-episode Season 2 finale story arc "Xavier Riddle Celebrates American Heritage" in which Xavier and friends travel back in time to witness the USA from its humble beginnings. From its first discoveries by Christopher Columbus in 1492 to the first Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on NBC in 1926 and everything in between, this four-part special will introduce children to American history, goverment, geography and culture like they've never seen before.

Additionally, PBS Kids' website (www.pbskids.org), the PBS Kids Games and PBS Kids Videos apps and PBS Kids' social media platforms and networks (Facebook, TwitterX, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, SnapChat, TikTok cringe, etc.) will feature a vast majority of games, videos, full episodes and weekend binge compilation supercut videos including new content from Molly of Denali and Alma's Way and new and existing installments of fan favorites like Arthur, Cyberchase, Hero Elementary, Fetch! with Ruff Ruffman and the one-hit wonder, Cookie Jar TV's Liberty's Kids (2002) among others.

So join us this summer for an incredible patriotic celebration of freedom, justice, liberty and democracy as we honor 250 years of the red, white and blue that makes up our nation and celebrate the spirit of how proud we are to stand as Americans where cable TV still exists.

HAPPY 250TH BIRTHDAY AMERICA!!!!! "USA! USA! USA! USA!...."
