Teletoon Is Dead After 26 Years

 Today marks the end of an era of children’s television history as Corus Entertainment is about to shut down Teletoon Canada and replace it with Cartoon Network.

 And as they said, X marks the spot. Nickelodeon's NOGGIN and Paramount+ SVODs have dropped the anchor on the final seven remaining episodes of Santiago of the Seas' first season which began streaming on the two platforms last week.

Be Part Of It - ITV To Close Down CITV In Fall/Autumn 2023

Today is a very sad and sombre day for the children's television industry. After four decades on the air, British terrestrial TV company ITV plc. has announced that it will fully shut down its iconic children's network powerhouse CITV in Autumn 2003 in late September or early October and replace it with a new streaming network ITV Kids on its recently relaunched streaming platform ITVx.

When Matthew Kelly (Stars in Their Eyes, You Bet!) kicked off the very first broadcast of CITV from the rocketship studio in Birmingham four decades ago, the network didn't know back then how influential of a global success the 15-hour UK kids telly pwoerhouse would eventually become. In the years and decades since, the channel hasproduced banger after banger of TV nostalgia, including Thomas & Friends, Sooty; one of the three longest-running preschool series in the world lasting for 63 years from 1955-2018 with Harry & Matthew Corbett and Richard Cadell, Engie Benjy with Ant & Dec, the legendary global smash hit icon that is Art Attack and Finders Kepers UK with Neil Buchanan, HOW with Fred Dineage, Boohbah, Rosie & Jim, Tots TV, Rainbow with Charles Geoffrey Heyes, Wizardora, ZZZap!, Fun House with Pat Sharp, On Safari with exotic Christopher Biggins, Eliminator and Jungle Run with Michael Underwood, You Can Do Magic, The Quick Tricks Show, Brilliant Creatures, Fingertips, Globo Loco and Tricky TV with Stephen Mulhern, the short-lived game Petsswap and Pump It Up with Dave Benson Phillips and Fearne Cotton, newspaper drama Press Gang, sci-fi game show Knightmare with Hugo Myatt and countdown show Top 10 of Everything. The network has also given home to many Saturday morning blocks of variety shows including No. 73, Get Fresh, Motormouth, What's Up Doc?, Gimme 5!, Ghost Train, Wacaday, Wide Awake Club, Scratchy & Co, Ministry of Mayhem, Scrambled! and SM:TV Live/CD:UK with Ant & Dec and Cat Deeley.

When the last of its golden shows got cancelled in 2006-2007, the channel has been going into making a lot of terrible cringe quality content in the last 15 years having the stupidity to once again drop in-vision studio hosts and continuity and go back to out-of-vision with announcer Tim Dann ever since. The Studio B of Gas Street Studios in Birmingham and the 1998-2006 oval shaped logo was the true end of the network's golden era. The only good content aside from the preschool programs that the network has made in the years since includes Horrid Henry, HOW reboot, Thunderbirds Are GO!, Mr. bean: The Animated Series and the most recently Saturday block Scrambled! which got axed in April 2021.

CITV unfortunately isn't the only channel in danger as its long-serving centennial rival CBBC is also on the verge of getting axed to the cutting room floor and being shut down as later as 2025. This comes as another way of BBC and ITV trying to save money and trying to get the license fees refunded and still in another long-serving epidemic to make the internet accessible for all British communities.

However, fear not, CITV will still exist in some way extent shape or form with the CITV strand moving to weekday mornings on ITV2 in September while CBeebies and CBBC programs continue to air every Saturday morning from 6:00am-9:35am on BBC2.

RIP CITV. Thank you to Matthew Kelly, Steve Ryde and all the team on this network past and present who have turned this channel into what it is today. This network will be dearly missed.

NOGGIN Releases NOGGIN Knows Season 3 Soundtrack

 Nickelodeon and Republic Records today have released the soundtrack of the third season (6 x 11-minute episodes) of its award-winning original long-form series NOGGIN Knows with Emmanuel Carter. The new season that launched over the December 2022-January 2023 Christmas and New Years period sees Emmanuel go on a new field trip journey with Goby and Zooli of Bubble Guppies (which is getting cancelled after its final episode by the way) and Marshall and Everest from PAW Patrol.

The new soundtrack entitled NOGGIN KNows Vol. 3: Songs About Little Kids and Big Questions which is some worst timing foreshadowings breaking the fourth wall of the streamer's new channel slogan.

Nickelodeon Revives Classic Splat Logo In New Rebrand

 Finally after 14 years of being lazy, Nickelodeon's original golden splat logo era has returned.

Nickelodeon today to ring in this year's Kids Choice Awards has unveiled a new logo bringing back its iconic Splat-shape logo design which hasn't been used since 2009-2010. However the major difference is that the splat logo does not cover the entire wordmark like it used to.

The logo's first sightings was on merch released early late February and also on an Instagram post from Matthew Hutchinson of The Tiny Chef Show YouTube channel and TV series and additionally on a few KCA promos before the date of the actual ceremony. One KCA promotion bumper in particular revives the classic "Doo-Wop A Saurus" ID with the dinosaurs wearing sunglasses.

The rebrand will also include new takes on the channel's classic idents made famous by the late Eugene Pitt's The Jive 5 doowop group and animation duo Fred/Alan productions.

SO MUCH SLIME TO CLEAN UP - Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards 2023 Winners Unveiled

Another year of the Kids Choice Awards has come and gone. The 36th annual ceremony has been another great night for all of us working here at Nickelodeon and Paramount Global. Now we just got to clean up all that slime that dropped on the floor of the arena and pack it all away waiting to do it all over again nextr year in March 2024.

This year's ceremony also broke the record for the most stars slimed on stage during the event with a whopping 19 celebrity slimings! Another first this year is that viewers got to meet Nate and Charli's REAL families! (No seriously those are their actual relatives attending the event). Also during this year's event, TMNT star Seth Rogen unveiled the official voice cast of the upcoming TMNT new movie release Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem which drops in five months on August 4th, with the movie's official Theatrical Trailer to be dropped on Monday, March 6th.

Nickelodeon and the Monster High cast has also unveiled the highlights of the channel to come out in April 2023 this year including new sitcom Erin and Aaron which premieres on Thursday April 20th, the third season of Henry Danger Force and the highly-anticipated PAW Patrol 10th Anniversary Super Smash Bros.-esque crossover reunion special "All PAWs On Deck" as well as a preview clip of the Monster High 2 movie sequel coming out this Halloween in October.
