Nickelodeon Revives The Backyardigans In Limited YouTube Music Video Series (but it's a Cocomelon ripoff)

OH WE MEMELORDS ARE SO BACK.

Nickelodeon on Friday has ordered a new short-form music video series based on one of the most memetastic preschool tevision series of all time, The Backyardigans. The award-winning series created by the late Janice Burgess is at it again for a whole new generation. The fab five of the Great White North, Pablo the penguin, Tyrone the moose, Uniqua the dog, Tasha the rhinoceros and Austin the kangaroo are back once more and have gotten a major redesign upgrade.

The new series of music video episodes launched Friday morning on the franchise' official YouTube channel that was went live to the public last month. The first track is so painfully obvious. This new batch of episodes starts with "Castaways", one of the show's iconic songs which went viral on Spotify, TikTok and YouTube Poops in the summer of 2021 during the COVID virus pandemic.

However, many millennial fans have discovered that this series has had the characters redesigned very porrly and is nothing but Nickelodeon trying to be the company owner of Cocomelon, the most subscribed and most popular YouTube Kids account of all time. This isn't the first time that Nick Jr. has done this JJ bootleg stupdity though. Back in November 2022, the network launched Blue's Clues & You!: Lola's Nursery Rhymes on the official Blue's Clues YouTube channel and is nothing but another stupid Cocomelon ripoff with Blue and Magenta stealing the Cocomelon animation secret formula.

It's currently unknown if Nickelodeon will greenlight a full half-hour series revival of the iconic show or if whether or not these redesigns will stick around at all. However, the new series was launch with a special tribute document for the late Janice Burgess which was written on LinkedIn by the content creators and company execs at Nelvana Limited and Nickelodeon Animation Studios.
