YOU STUBBORN JACKDONKEYS!!! - DreamWorks FINALLY Orders Shrek 5 Movie Sequel, TO Bow July 1st, 2026

"someBODY ONCE TOLD ME THE WORLD WAS GONNA ROLL ME-"

FINALLY after 16 years of Universal and DreamWorks Animation SKG being the lazy idiots they are, America's favorite internet memelord ogre is back for another new adventure.

Universal Studios and DreamWorks Animation SKG have today finally officially announced the global release date for their upcoming sequel Shrek 5: It's Not OGRE Yet! set for global release in theaters and available on NBC Peacock on Wednesday July 1st, 2026. The new movie is slated to pickup where the original franchise's 2010 finale Shrek Forever After left off all those years ago.

All of the franchise's award winning voice cast are back for a whole new generation, including the legendary Mike Myers (Dr. Seuss' The Cat in the Hat, Queen Bohemian Rhapsody), Cameron Diaz and Eddie Murphy (The Haunted Mansion) return as Shrek, Princess Fiona and Donkey's voices respectively. Additionally, new tracks and classic YTP memes songs by Smash Mouth (""Hey Now, You're An Allstar", "I'm a Believer") and Counting Crows ("Accidentally In Love") are also present and accounted for.

The news comes in just a few weeks short after DreamWorks has announced in some way shape or form to reboot this iconic franchise which was first made famous on April 22, 2001 (Earth Day), by reuniting the original voice cast and production crew for a whole new generation of fans. The new Shrek 5 movie will also pick up where 2022's box office smash Puss In Boots II: The Final Wish left off in the movie's emotional final scene before the end credits where Puss the cat reveals that he's out to seek a new voyage of adventures and bring back some old friends, as a new take on the "Opening Fairytale" score, which is also better known as the DreamWorks company jingle plays in the background.

This movie will also most likely pay tribute to the late frontman of Smash Mouth, the legendary one and only Steve Harwell, who passed away last September and was responsible for some of the greatest internet memes in children's entertainment history. The tribute will most likely be played at the end of the film, before the end credits start.

Both of these new Shrek movies including an untitled Donkey spinoff film coincides with the DreamWorks/Universal franchise' 25th silver anniversary, which also includes the recent grand opening of the new extended DreamWorks Land area at Universal's theme parks.
