On This Day - Nick Jr USA Channel Launched

 On this day 11 YEARS AGO, the Nick Jr USA channel was first launched onto the screens. The channel kept its Moose & Zee characters and Melinda Beck animation design for the channel's first three years. Since March 2012, all of Nick Jr's programs have been just out of vision commercial break announcers with no invision hosts showing up in sight.

Some of the highlights of the channel's run include broadcasting its first (and so far only) Mega Music Fest children's concert, The Fresh Beat Band Concert special in 2013, the network television premiere of Yo Gabba Gabba Live in 2011 and being the USA broadcaster of Thomas & Friends from 2017 to 2019.

The most terrible thing that has happened to the channel is once again airing programs for adults for no reason on an unsuccessful programming block called NickMom. Thankfully that adult block trash (my opinion) is gone from the channel after 2015 and Nick Jr is now 24 hours a day and 7 days a week again, which has continued to this day.

PIRATAS AHOY! Santiago of the Seas Premieres October 9th On Nickelodeon, Sneak Peek Streaming Exclusively On NOGGIN SVOD

Nickelodeon is no stranger to making kids programs that are meant to teach Spanish culture and languages, and the upcoming Santiago of the Seas is no exception.

And on the heels of Spanish teaching successes such as Dora the Explorer and Canticos, as well as the acquition of Spanish dubbed programs including Connie the Cow and Cleo & Cuquin, it's only natural that Nickelodeon incorporates more Spanish teaching.

In the new series, originally greenlit in 2018 under the protype title of The Swashbucklling Adventures of Capitan Calavero, the titular hero and her pirate crew set sail on the high seas of adventure and Espanol culture.

The new series is scheduled to air its first episode "The Legend of Capitan Calavero" on Friday October 9th at 12:30PM ET/11:30c on Nickelodeon. Any viewers who miss the episode might be able to catch it again on the Nick Jr. Channel during its "Super New Saturdays" programming block which airs Saturday mornings at 8AM and is a recap of that week's latest programming episodes.

To get you and your kids hyped for the new series, the show has just launched its ship of precious booty onto the NOGGIN SVOD service as a sneak peek. By clicking on Santiago's icon in the NOGGIN SVOD network app inbetween Bubble Guppies and Nella, viewers can watch the show's official theme song graphics and play the first online game based on the series "Islas des los Tesoros" (that means "Treasure Islands" in Spanish.)

The show is created by Valerie Walsh of Dora fame and Niki Lopez. John Leguizamo who has previously worked with Nickelodeon, NOGGIN and Nick Jr. before on projects including Dora and the 2010 Mega Music Fest concert is among the star studded cast for the swashbucklling pirate adventures

NOGGIN Launches On Amazon Prime Europe

 NOGGIN has officially launched on Amazon.com Prime Video channels in Europe. The five-year running SVOD network from Nickelodeon which has since lanched in over 65 countries and territories is now available to stream on the Prime Video channels in the UK & Ireland, Germany, France and Austria.

The news comes fron ViacomCBS recently launching the SVOD network onto Apple TV+ channels in the Netherlands, Central & Eastern Europe, the Middle East (United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Oman), Africa and Asia.

Start The Clock - BBC's The Weakest Link IS BACK: Premieres September 29 on NBC USA

The game show known for hillariously roasting its contestants is back. The classic Weakest Link game show originally from the dawn of the millennium of the British ponds is back for a whole new generation in America on NBC. The new reboot series is set to premiere on Tuesday, September 29.

However, this one will be different. Jane Lynch has been selected as the new host for the show's American counterpart and the logo has been redesigned.

But most things remain the same. A team of contestants struggling to get as many questions correct and as much money earned as possible, the voting, the host constantly roasting the series' own contestants and the classic elimination process which ends in the host lamenting the iconic immortal line "You Are The Weakest Link. Goodbye."

This is the series' first episode since the BBC Children In Need Foundation special back in November 2017 and its first regular run of episodes since the series originally ended on April Fools Day weekend in 2012.

Unfortunately, Anne Robinson, the show's original host who made the franchise so special and even got the offer to work on an international counterpart of her own creation during the second 2 years of its run from 2001-2003 unfortunately is not returning for the American dub. It's also currently inknown who the announcer guy is for the reboot who opens up the series by spoiling the plotline of the game.

Nickelodeon To Release Remaining Blue's Clues & You! Season 1 Episodes on DVD Before TV Airings

 Nickelodeon will be releasing the remaining three episodes of Blue's Clues & You! on DVD on September 22 and October 6, a few weeks before they air on Nickelodeon.

The Halloween and Thanksgiving specials "Costume Party with Blue" (118)" and "Thankful with Blue" (119) will be released on the latest Nick Jr. Favorites DVD compilation "Fantastic Fall/Autumn" to be released on September 22nd.

The Season 1 final episode "Getting Healthy with Blue" (120) which deals with the coronavirus stuff as of recently will be included on the Blue's Clues & You second DVD release "Caring with Blue" released on October 6th.

The Mouse Has Returned - Maisy Mouse Brought Back To USA Airwavves on NBC's Peacock SVOD

If you were born around 1999-2001 there's a pretty good chance you recognize the Maisy Mouse TV series adaptation from the books by Lucy Cousins and starring the Aussie duo of Shane Dundas and David Collins, the Umbillical Brothers from The Upside Down Show.

Well fear not, because after 13 years of being off the US air, Maisy Mouse has returned to American justice on NBC's Peacock SVOD app channel.

The US version with Brian Greene as the narrator is now available to stream on this NBC-Universal platform. The 27 half-hour episodes, each containing four stories each follows Maisy and her friends Cyril, Tallulah, Eddie and Charleyyy as they go on fun adventures together.

CBS All Access QUITS?! - ViacomCBS To Rebrand CBS All Access Into Paramount+ In 2021

Well it's official. After seven years, CBS All Access may or may not be no more :(. ViacomCBS has announced that it will shut down and rebrand CBS All Access into Paramount+ coming in early 2021, probably releasing between January and April.

The new rebranded service will include all of the biggest and best Nickelodeon and ViacomCBS properties past, present and future. The newly rebranded SVOD network will also be the homeground to the highly anticipated third SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run and the first SpongeBob spinoff Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's UnderYears despite some unneccessary criticism.

And although NOGGIN, ViacomCBS and Nickelodeon's SVOD channel for preschoolers will continue to be its own seperate thing, it's currently unknown whether or not NOGGIN's programming will migrate to this new platform.

Mickey Mouse Shorts Return To Disney+ November 18th

Mickey and his crew are back with the first new batch of Mickey Mouse cartoon shorts since July 2019. The 2013 cartoon series is set to return onto Disney+ when the show gets renamed to The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse. Season six of the 2013 cartoon shorts is schedule to launch on the Disney+ platform on Wednesday, November 18th which seems like an appropiate release date since its the birthdate of the character that holds Disney's glue together for 92 years now.

Not much is known about these new shorts, although there is some speculation that Kaitlyn Robrock will be taking over as the voice for Minnie Mouse, Huey, Dewey and Louie following the tragic July 2019 date of Minnie's OG voice Russi Taylor.

The surviving of Mickey's voice cast Chris Diamatopolis, Tony Anselmo, Tress MacNelle, Bill Farmer, Corey Burton, April Winchell and Jim Cummings are expected to reprise roles.

Mayor Goodway Got FIRED? - Deanne Degruijter QUITS PAW Patrol After 7 Years

Well it's official the voice behind the mayor of PAW Patrol has bowed out. Deanne Degruijter who has been playing the role of Mayor Goodway on the series since day one has been laid off from the team after seven years.

Degruijter had first joined the squad in August 2013 when Nickelodeon and TVO broadcasted the first episode of PAW Patrol to the world.

Because of Degruijter's retirement, Kim Roberts is confirmed to take over the role. She had been slated to start voicing the character following the episode "Pups Save A Big BAD Birds Crew"

A huge congratulations and thank you to Deann for all of her years of contributions, excellence and dutys to the Nickelodeon team. We will miss her dearly and we wish her the very best for whatever adventures and rescues are next for her in the near future.

Nathan Kress, Miranda Cosgrove and Drake & Josh would work together on this hillarious sketch-comedy sitcom making videos for their website.

One of the show's best mysteries is which character did Nathan Kress (Freddie) love more? Carly or Sam? This question was answered on an episode of a fellow Nick series Game Shakers starring another big Nickelodeon name Kel Mitchell

On This Day: Blues Clues Was Played For The First Time EVER

On this day 24 YEARS AGO, the first of Nick Jr.'s three long-running charttoppers Blue's Clues was first broadcasted onto our screens.

In 1996, Traci Paige Johnson, Todd Kessler and Angela C. Santomero were given the task of making a game show for the preschool crowds. The show was originally going to be titled Blue's Prints, Mr. Salt was originally going to have a Brooklyn, New York accent, Steve was supposed to have a red polo shirt and Blue was originally going to be a cat.

However, these changes were reversed when Nickelodeon at the time was already working on a cat-related series entitled CatDog which would premiere in 1998.

So they went with a blue dog animated by Dave Palmer, Mr. Salt to have a French accent and Steve to wear a green striped shirt. And with a couple of small adjustments, airing on September 7th 1996 at 8PM primetime, Nickelodeon's Blue's Clues was born. The original series ran for eight years, six seasons and 143 episodes (including a 90-minute musical movie)

Steven Burns, Donovan Patton and Joshua Dela Cruz invited children to join them and their pet puppy dog Blue voiced by creator Traci Paige Johnson on learning educational adventures in this story-based preschool game show. While looking for the three pawprint shaped clues to figure out the question asked in each episode, puzzles and games are played to help increase learning, problem-solivng and critical thinking skills.

In August 2004, following the original Blues Clues series wrapping up on May 10th of that year, Blue's Clues helped open the door to the first Nick Jr spinoff show Blue's Room in which was all live-action puppets and Blue could talk and sing proper English in her playroom, and with working with some of the great voice actors of the Sesame Street franchise. This spinoff would continue to air regularly until March 29th, 2007.

Twelve years later in November 2019, Blue's Clues is gracefully brought back onto our screens. Josha Dela Cruz from Disney's Aladdin took over as the new host with Burns and Patton making constant reappearances for nostalgia factors and purposes.

Since then, the Blue's Clues franchise has became an international phenomeon for the past 24 years. It was the first Nick Jr. series ever to have a spinoff and a reboot series. It has been running over 24 yearas with a 12 year interval, airing three series, 11 seasons and over 200 episodes, merchandising, a Broadway musical adaptation, over 15 videogames, six CD albums and theme park appearances. And with 40 more episodes of BC&Y up their paws and sleeves, the franchise is still considered to be a classic for years to come.

The series followed Diego (voiced by Jake T. Austin, Wizards of Waverly Place) alongside his sister Alicia and his pet Baby Jaguar as they go n adventures and help to save the animals of the world. However they need to avoid the naughty antics of the Bobo Brothers (voiced by Dora alum Jose Zeleya, who has also voiced Tico the Squirrel)

Hair Salon Shut Down - Nick Jr. Made by Maddie POSTPONED Due To Hair Love Ripoff Controversy

Unfrotunately for Nickelodeon, it looks like Maddie has been sued for copyright infringement of Hair Love although that statement is still debatable thanks to the conversation that has been spreading around everywhere on social media.

Nickelodeon has removed its upcoming Made by Maddie preschool series from its scheduled September 13th premiere date on the Nick Jr. channel and has been postponed to a future date later in the fall. Although the scheduled premiere could still or still not happen.

Nickelodeon and Silvergate Media had issued a statement stating their concerns over this unneccesary controversy, the second that the channel and its parent company have had in the past three months. The two companies have reported that this series is not a clone of the aformentioned Matthew A. Cherry short film and have taken measures and risks because of these complaints.

The series' page on the Nick Jr app and NickJr.com website have also been temporarilly taken down because of this criticism.

Made by Maddie is still happening on the Nick Jr. channel. A new release date for the program has yet to be announced once the complaints have slowed down a bit.

Hair Love: Nickelodeon Edition? - Made By Maddie Given Controversy TWO WEEKS Before Nick Jr Premiere Date

Nickelodeon is suffering another panic attack when it was recently unveiled the debate on whether or not its upcoming preschool Nicktoon Made by Maddie is a copy of Hair Love, the Oscar Academy Awards winning short film by Matthew A. Cherry which is also getting a TV show adaptation for HBO Max.

Many people realized that the plotline and character art is the same and also follows a Black family and an 8 year old girl doing a fashion design job.

Luckilly, Nickelodeon and Silvergate Media have confirmed that when people watch the new series on 9/13, they will realize it is its own original series and plotline. The two companies give credit to Mr. Cherry for the inspiration on the show.
