It's the performance that every SpongeBob fan has been waiting for! During Maroon 5's halftime show at Super Bowl 53 2019 when the SpongeBob animation cut to Sicko Mode, everyone was so angry at this decision started beating them up and forcing them to play the whole song. They were forced to perform the entire song as punishment for cutting the video short. Thankfully, Dallas Stars a team from the Ntional Hockey League NHL chimed in and played their own video they created for the song during halftime using footage from "Band Geeks" and fooage of people watching the NFL recorded for the video to go along with it.
Noggin LLC also forced the NFL to play the song at both the Dallas Stars NHL and Super Bowl NFL sports games on Sunday, February 3rd, 2019 following a petition from 2,500,000 fans.
Vice President Mark Cheng stated "To all of our fans who have watched the Super Bowl and wrote us nasty letters saying 'CURSE YOU MAROON 5!' or 'CURSE NICKELODEON THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THEIR FANBASE!', quit it because that can be fr more discussed than the truth. NFL originally decided not to play the song,, but unfortunately YouTuber Valiskibum94 alongside fellow Noggin employees Paul Christie and Kathleen Herles punished Maroon 5 to play the complete song after cutting the visuals short after 10 seconds.
Fortunately, the entire song was performed and the halftime show proved to be a huge success. Everyone has appreciated Stephen Hillenburg and his work over the past 20 years. We thank all of our fans for stick with SpongeBob and his crew of nautical friends since their launch in May 1999. Nickelodeon has pledged they will always make SpongeBob as long as they can."
