"SURPRISE!!!" Its PBS' 50TH ANNIVERSARY! On this day 50 YEARS AGO TODAY, the PBS Public Broadcasting Service channel launched to the nation! Not only was it the home to all of its greatest content on the PBS Kids channel over the past 26 years, its also been home to classics for the whole family including Masterpiece Theater with Alistair Cooke, Big Apple History, NOVA and BBC's Are You Being Served?.
Happy 50th Anniversary PBS!
