Well it's official. After 37 years and two months posthumous, the Alex Trebek era of the iconic answer to question game show Jeopardy! has come to an end.
The final episode of Trebek's runtime aired last night acted as a Christmas special, despite the fact the holiday already happened two weeks ago.
After the episode aired, Trebek was given a proper final bow. After the credits rolled, ABC aired a tribute montage of Trebek's greatest moments, leaving tears and feels of joy and nostalgia for anyone who has grown up to this unforgetable man.
The final shot of the montage is brief but meaningful, reads "Dedicated to RIP Alex Trebek 1940-2020 Always in our hearts, Always our inspiration". This final string of episodes dedicated to him is a reminder and celebration of how far the program has been successful after over 55 years.
RIP Alex Trebek, thank you for your gracious donations to the entertainment world.
We will miss you dearly.
The Ken Jennings era begins Monday January 11 at 7PM
