"OHHHHHHH HOOOOOOOO Who are the people in your neighborhood,
in your neighborhood, in your neighborhood?
Say! Who are the people in your neighborhood?
The people that you meet each day?"
We are so saddened to report that the legendary childhood star of Sesame Street and one of the first stars to be part of the show since day one, Bob McGrath has passed away this cold winter holiday season. Bob's family have confirmed that he had died peacefully in his family house at the age of 90 years old.
He was one of the best starrs of Sesame Street since the show's beginning back in November 1969. Without this great man, some of the best songs from the show would not even exist. Without McGrath, we would never get to learn more about the different types of people and their jobs that they do in the community or learn about classification skills. Without this guy, the lgendary PBS, PBS Kids, HBO and Cartoon Network preschool powerhouse would not even exist to this day.
A huge round of grattitude to Bob and his incredible contributions to this legendary preschool series. He and Luis (Emillio Delgado) will be dearly missed and remembered for many generations of Sesame Street fans to come.
RIP Bob McGrath
