Another year of Disney celebrations with the four-day D23 Expo convention has drawn to a close and with the mouse house's annual exposition, there comes some exclusive new announcements about some of the upcoming new movies, episodes and theme park attractions that will be available to the Walt Disney Company's century-old vault of content for the next three years or so.
DISNEY MOVIES
First up is the exclusive first look trailer for one the upcoming sequels Zootopia II starring Gennieve Goldwin, the late Jason Bateman and Espanol recording artist Shakira, set to release in theaters over the next Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday season in November 2025. The new sequel picks up where the original 2016 film left off as Judy Hopps and Nick Wild continue their quest to "Try Everything!" and bring a new generation of connections to the African savannah.
The upcoming live-action movie Mufasa: The First Lion King set for release this Christmas season in December 2024 follows the backstory of how James Earl Jones first took his legendary contribution to the annual Disney Vault and made the Circle of Life possible for the last 30 years. As of right now, Donald Glover, James Earl Jones and Beyonce Knowles-Carter and composer Tim Rice are expected to return. It's currently unconfirmed whether or not legendary British rocker Sir Elton John, age 77 will contribute to the new film due to his retirement from the public scene after the successful climax of his last hurrah during his five-year Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour which was filmed for Disney+ in November 2022 and made his final ever concert appearance at this year's annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame gala on New Years Day.
Following the suxxess of the highest grossing children's animated movie of all time Inside Out 2 taking over from Frozen. Anna, Elsa and Olaf are getting ticked off and are plotting o get their revenge and take the crown back from them, with the official release of Frozen III set for November 2027. Yes that's right, the stupidest Disney franchise of all time is back for its third chapter to excite kids and brainwash the existance of parents and YouTubers everywhere. Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, Josh Gad and Jonathan Groff are all expected to reprise their roles. Although unconfirmed, Stephanie Lee has revealed that a fourth film entry installment is currently in production but probably won't be released until the early 2030s.
PIXAR MOVIES & SERIES
Those hopping lamps at Pixar Animation Studios are pushing 40 in 2026 and to celebrate, their iconic team of Pete Doctor, Brad Bird, Andrew Stanton, Randy Newman and John Lasseter are cooking up some really cool details about the future of this Disney joint-venture.
First up, after a year of stupidity annd laziness, Pixar will FINALLY debut the launch of the highly-anticipated new Disney/Pixar TV series Win or Lose (Season 1, 15 episodes) set to release on Disney Channel and stream on Disney+ for Christmas Delivery on Friday, December 6. The new original TV series follows the adventures and nightmare fuel trauma of a nine member MLB softball team as they cope through the various misadventures and stupid villains in order to compete against some of the biggest names in sports at the annual softball tournament.
Following the release of Elio set for June 2025, Pixar has unveiled the title of its upcoming previously untitled film set for release over Easter weekend in March 2026, Hoppers follows the story of a few stupid human characters and their rabbits and beavers sidekicks as they venture through the lifes and struggles of everyday humans and animals lifestyle over this Christian holiday. The movie is set to be directed by the creator of We Bare Bears franchise seen on Cartoon Network.
Original ideas doesn't exist, and with the upcoming sequels and remakes at Disney, the birthplace of Pixar Animation Studios, Toy Story is no exception. Disney/Pixar is slated to release the highly-anticipated new sequel film that America has been waiting for, Toy Story 5 set for release on June 18, 2026. In this new film, Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, Mr. and Mr.s Potato Heads, Slinky Dog, the Aliens, Bo Peep, the Green Army Men, Barbie, Ken, Bullseye, Stinky Pete, Andy, Sid, Bonnie and the whole gang return to their roots after the 2022 box office flop of Lightyear when British and Irish dubbed movie star, the world renowned Chris Evans ripped off Toy Story and ruined your childhood idols. However, things take a further turn for the worse when they realize they're coming face to face across technology and the nightmare fuel of AI-generated Disney content. Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cozack, posthumous recordings from Don Rickles, Estelle Harris, Jim Varney & Joe Ranft, John Lasseter and the legendary composer and songwriter Randy Newman are all set to reprise their iconic roles.
And finally in the Pixar category, Disney has unveiled plans to make a new third entry in The Incredibles franhicse with the development of The Incredibles 3. The new film will quite possibly pick up where the 2018 film Incredibles 2 left off which follows the stories of Mr. and Mrs. Incredible as they venture on a new superhero adventure to save the world from an evil threat. Among the names returning include the likes of Craig T. Nelson, Bonnie Hunt, Saarah Vowell and Samuel L. Jackson.
THEME PARKS AND EXPERIENCES
Finally, some of the new details for some new attractions coming to the studio's theme parks including Disneyland, Walt Disney World, Disneyland Paris France, Tokyo DisneySea Japan, Hong Kong Disneyland and Shanghai Disneyland. These attractions will help to bring a new set of park goers to experience the company ruler of the world that is The Walt Disney Company.
Disneyland, the Happiest Place on Earth celebrates its 70th Platinum Anniversary in 2025 and to kick off the festivities, Disney/ABC Legend John Stamos (Full House, Mickey Mouse Funhouse, MARVEL's Spiderman and his Amazing Friends) kicked off the year-long celebration by crooning his rendition of one of the company's hit national anthems "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes" from the 1950s Disney classic Cinderella with two sequels and a live-action remake under her pumpkin carraige. The annual celebration like previous Disneyland and Disney World anniversary parties, is slated to run from around late October 2024-early September 2026.
Larry the Cable GUy, the voice of Mater from Disney/Pixar's Cars has unveiled that Frontierland at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida will be getting a major upgrade in 2025 with the launch of two all-new Disney and Pixar Cars themed attractions.
And finally, Billy Crystal and John Goodman demand you to put that thing right back where it came from or so help rthem! as they unveil the launch of Monsters Inc. Land, a new Disneyland and Walt Disney World area celebrating the 25th anniversary of the hit 2001 Disney/Pixar movie memes. The new aarea joins preexisting Pixar themed lands Cars Land and Toy Story Land opened in 2012 and 2018 respectively. It's currently unknown which area it will be built on, however all we do know is that it will probably be opened around October 2025 or October 2026 as part of the company's annual Mickey & Minnie Mouse's Not So Spooky Halloween Party celebration (which includes the annual Disney Junior Jam dance party at the Storybook Cirucs area) and will include easter egg references and callbacks to the hit Disney Channel and Disney+ TV series Monsters Inc. At Work which has yert to be renewed for season 3.
So there's a ton of great stuff coming to The Walt Disney Company, which should be completed and fully available to their army of Mouseketeers by at least early-2028.
