Nickelodeon yesterday (Monday January 9th) has started to hype up the premiere of the PAW Patrol franchise' first ever spinoff series Rubble & Crew bowing February 3rd at 11:30am/10:30c on Nickelodeon cable television, by uploading the first episode of the series three weeks early on the NIck Jr. channel's app and website (www.NickJr.com/Rubble-and-Crew) and on the Noggin SVOD.
The new 26-episode series follows everyone's favorite construction working and food addicted bulldog (now voiced byy Luxton Handspike) as he ventures across the construction building machinery of Builder Cover with his brothers and sisters Mix, Wheelie, Charger and Motor and his parents Grandpa Gravel and Aunt Crane as they work together to bow-wow build their town. However, this series has a stupid ripoff of Mayor Goodway (Kim Roberts) and the STUPIDEST Nick Jr. villain ever created Mayor Humdinger (Ron Pardo). Goodway has a sister now named Gateway and the antagonist of this series is some SpeedRacer knockoff named Speed Meister. (And they told me and Jack that Humdinger was stupid enough in this franchise to begin with)
Don't worry, Nickelodeon does these character-driven spinoffs properly instead of recycling that Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius spinoff garbage that is Planet Sheen. These days, Nick's character-driven spinoff series now have the entire cast of the franchise' original show all presented and accounted for.
Clips of this new show have been shown as early as theBowWow Big Night marathon over Thanksgiving weekend on November 21st, 2022. The first episode "The Crew Builds the Bridge" includes a scene where Ryder, Chase, Marshall, Skye and the rest of the PAW team being introduced to Rubble's new family and Builder Cove's Goodsway and Humdinger bootleg knockoff characters. The episode that has been released to Nick Jr. and Noggin's digital platforms this early is "The Crew Builds the Big Bike Shop" in which Rubble and his family builds this bicycle store and repairs all the bikes.
This isn't the first or the last time that the Noggin SVOD has posted a new Nick Jr. series weeks before its linear cable premiere as Blue's Clues & You! reboot (November 11, 2019), Santiago of the Seas (October 9, 2020) and Pinkfong YouTube charttopper-based Baby Shark's Big Show! (December 11, 2020-March 26, 2021) have all had the similar premiere fate tactic with their show pages being released to the Noggin SVOD app three to four weeks before the first episode on cable TV rolls out.
The new Rubble spinoff is part of the PAW Patrol: BIGGEST YEAR EVER!!!! 10th Anniversary Celebration lasting all year round for the next ten months, kicked off with the launch of the Aqua Pups story arc episodes last week and concluding the grand finale with the release of the second theatrical film PAW Patrol II: The Mighty Pups Movie releasing on October Friday the 13th, the sequel to the 2021 feature film which is now available in over 65 countries and raised over $145 million in the box office.
To further celebrate the premiere of Rubble's new show, Noggin SVOD has also reorganized all of the preexisting Rubble-based content into the Rubble & Crew series' webpage, including episodes of its original series Word Play, Noggin Knows with Emmanuel Carter and Dance Squad with Kevin Alexander from the ALvin Alley American Dance Theater in New York City, NY, as well as the 2021 social skills based Big Hearts World learning program produced in association produced in association with Sparkler, Move This World Organization and Made by Radio Animation Studios.
