ZOOG Movies - ABC Freeform Caps Off Disney's Centennial Year with a Marathon of Classic Disney Channel DCOMs

 As the 100th year anniversary of The Walt Disney Company draws to a close in less than four months, the company's family and teens outlet ABC has cooked up some final just desserts for the occasion. For the entire month of June, Disney's sister network ABC Freeform, formerly known as the FOX/ABC Family Channel will be broadcasting a selection of both classic and modern Disney Channel original movies (or DCOMs for short).

This marathon month of movies comes as Disney Channel and Disney+ are about to premiere their latest DCOM masterpiece, The Big City Greens Movie: Spacecation which premieres on THursday, June 6th at 8:00pm/7c, followed by a sneak preview of the first all-new Disney Channel original series of 2024, ZOMBIES: The Re-Animated Series premiering on Friday, June 28th, the full half-hour version of the animated cartoon based on Disney Channel's 2018 MONStober Halloween movie franchise, which began as a series of shirts last July.

Then Disney will later kick off the summer with a bang, with the worldwide linear television premiere of the classical music film to end all Baby Einstein DVDs. Disney will premiere both versions of the greatest classical music film for kids of all time, the legend that is FANTASIA.

Disney Channel, Disney Junior, Disney XD, Disney+, ABC, Freeform, ESPN+, Hulu and Max will simulcast the linear premiere of the two Fantasia movies in a special primetime broadcast slot hosted by Julie Aigner-Clark and Eric Weiner. Disney and Freeform will broadcast the original 1940s Fantasia on SAT June 22nd, followed by Fantasia 2000 on SAT June 29th.

In addition, Freeform will also premiere the 2020 DIsney and Pixar animated biography epic Soul on SAT June 29th. The film premiered on linear television earlier this year over on ABC during the network's annual The Wonderful World of Disney programming block, an anthology tentpole that has been running for over 70 years now, began by the late Walt Disney himself in October 1954.

WarnerDiscovery and Weigel Broadcasting Corporation Announcces MeTV Toons Grand Opening Launch Night Schedule

 Warner Bros./Discovery Communications and Weigel broadcasting are joining forces to launch the premiere of the all-new linear retro TV channel MeTV Toons, a newdedicated 24/7 TV network celebrating over a century of the best Warner Bros. cartoons franchises from around the globe.

The all-new network, which will bommencing broadcast on Tuesday, June 25 will include a wide catalog of both classic and modern episodes of cash-cow franchises and iconic WBD names including the likes of Scooby Doo, The Smurfs, Tom and Jerry, Yogi Bear, The Jetsons, The Flinstones, Looney Tunes starring Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky the Pig and all the rest, Inspector Gadget and Yogi Bear, along with the anticipated public television comeback of forgotten gems including the original Scooby-Doo incarnation Scooby Doo! Where Are You?, Hucklebeerry Hound, Underdog, Touche Turtle and Quick Draw McGraw, among others. Additional retro titles will follow in the coming months.

Golden Era Over - Legendary OG Disney Music Catalog Founder Richard M. Sherman Dead At 96

 We are so saddened to report the funeral of an iconic songwriter and composer that is beer snd desr to the mouse club's hearts. Disney Legend Richard M. Sherman, who got his start on the OSCAR record-breaking clsssuc movie musical Mary Poppins in August 1964 ns has died at the age of 96.

The Sherman Bros., Richard M. and Robert B. - the latter who has already passed away back in 2012, were first approached to the company by the late founder Walt Disney himself, when he had plans to adapt the classic bestseller Mary Poppins into the 1964 movie that has been endured with smiles and laughter for generations of families. Their first work for the company was the favorite song of the boss himself, the Julie Andrews ballad "Feed The Birds (Tuppence A Bag)" which turned into a tradition for the Disney studio, where every Friday, members of the staff would come down to Walt's office and Walt would shout "PLAY IT" which would signal this classic tune to be performed.

Their first collaboration with spoonfuls of sugar and dancing chimney sweeps would go on to stand the test of time, being crowned as Walt Disney's greatest crowning achievement and one of, if not the company's best known masterpiece film of all time. Since then, this film still holds the record for the most OSCAR Academy Awards won in a single year, winning 5 out of its 13 nominations in 1965, including Best Picture, Best Female Actress, Best Visual Effects, Best Score and Best Original Song for the hit '60s Disney staple "Chim Chim Cher-ee"

Since then, the Sherman Bros. have gone on to make soundtracks for other great Disney classics of our time, including the famous public domain success story Winnie the Pooh (1966), the African safari rhythms of The Jungle Book (1967) and the swinging jazz sounds of The Aristocats (1971). The duo have also been known for its treasure trove of theme park belters, including "There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow" covered by GRAMMY winning THey Might Be Giants for the 2007 film Meet the Robinsons, "In the Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Room" covered by Wayne Brady (Let's Make a Deal, Whose Line Is It Anyway?, Sofia the First) on the Playhouse Disney Music Block Party album in 2008, and who could ever forget the classic Disney international anthem "It's A Small, Small World After All", a ballad old as time on the same level of the company's national anthem "When You Wish Upon a Star" from the 1940 Disney success story Pinocchio. The last hurrah for Disney's golden songwriting boys came as most recent as October 16, 2023 during last year's successful Disney's 100 Years of Magic & Wonder celebration, where the OG composer returned to compose new score for their recent 2D animated masterpiece, the ambitious Muppet Movie-esque crossover Once Upon a Studio, the company's first twatercolor and 2D traditional animation project since the theatrical Winnie the Pooh film from July 2011, as well as the recent theatrical Disney masterpiec Wish, released last November for Thanksgiving.

Richard's death unfortunately spawns another nail in the coffin as Disney has recently killed off a number of employees from their office, including 175 employees, with 14% of the CGI animation birthplace of Disney-owned John Lasseter's Pixar Animation Studios being put onto the chopping block. Disney also currently has plans to have original ideas snapped out of existence with more sequels and live-action movie remakes of their animated classics than you can cast your wands at.

So as the final chapter of Disney's golden age comes to an end, we mourn the passing of this great Disney composer powerhouse who has put his tireless effort to create decades of iconic children's music for generations of families that will continue to spark the imagination of the surviving iconic familliar faces of the Disney staff family for many generations to come.

Stephen Hillenburg's Rules Doesn't Exist Anymore! - Tom Kenny and Bill Fagerbakke to Host 2024 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards Ceremony, Saturday July 13th at 7:00PM ET/PT on Nickelodeon and Paramount+

 They say SpongeBob can't get his driver's license, the Krabby Patty Secret Formula shouldn't be revealed, Krabby Patties shouldn't exist in real life, SpongeBob can't have any spinoffs and the franchise can't do any crossovers with other cartoon series. Bit Stephen Hillenburg has died back in November 2018, so that means those rules and guidelines can't exist anymore.

Nickelodeon is kicking off the 25th annivesary of SpongeBob SquarePants, one of the greatest children's television cash cow franchise success stories of all time, by having their mascot's voice actors Tom Kenny and Bill Fagerbakke host the 2024 37th annual incarnation of the channel's annual slime-filled celebration, the annual Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards 2024, which will broadcast live from the PAvely Pavillion in Santa Barbara, CA on Saturday, July 13th from 7:00-9:00PM ET/PT across Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., Noggin, The N, Nicktoons, TeenNick, NickRewind, Nick@Nite TV Land, NickMom, NickGAS, NickMusic, BET, CBS, CMT, Comedy Central, MTV, Smithsonian Network, VH1, Pluto TV and Paramount+ across both the linear and streaming service oceans.

Joe Brumn Fakes His Death - New Bluey Miniseries Ordered, To Premiere on ABC Kids AUS/NZ and Disney Channel Globally This Summer

You thought Bluey was dead? Think again. Joe Brumn has been a stupid idiot lying and making false advertisements to his own audience down under. Just because Bley is cancelled after "The Sign/Surprise" episode that was released in April, doesn't mean that the franchise is immediately killed.

The Walt Disney Company, ABC Australia and BBC Studios have ordered a new interstital series based on the Australian-based Peppa Pig bootleg, set to release across Australia in June and the USA in July. The all-new 20-episode x 3-minute mini-series follows more adventures of these crappy dogs as they ended up selling off their house and moving to a different country. The new minisodes will also focus on the family's new kids and Bluey and Bingo reaching adulthood and exploring their dream house.

Despite the new minisodes, the show is still cancelled with no plans to return for a fourth season. At the end of last year, the Bluey staff said that they were going on a break, but it looks like the main series is officially over. Bluey has died from full episodes and has no plan to return anytime soon.

May Mayhem - Nick Jr. Unveils New Podcast Slate For Next Week

 Following the heels of the successful new Dora reboot and lack of audio podcasts for preschool children, Nickelodeon has fixed the problem with the greenlight of three all-new audio podcast series, plus the renewal of an old favorite!

First up on Monday, May 13th is Dora the Explorer: Recipe for Adventure (Season 1, 10 episodes), based on the recently launched Paramount+ recent reboot series based on the hit global franchise that was released last month. In this series, Kathleen Herles and Diana Zermeno invite your youngster to help them cook all sorts of tasty and deliciosi Mexican dishes.

Next on Tuesday, May 14th is the highly anticipated second season of Blue's Clues & You! Storytime with Josh & Blue (Season 2, 14 episodes), the second season of the award-winning podcast that launched back in August 2020. This iconic series hosted by Joshua Dela Cruz and Traci Paige Johnson helps young children snuggle down to their bedtime at night.

Then on Wednesday, May 15th is the launch of Nick Jr. Goodnight Bedime Stories (Season 1, 20 episodes) which follows the adventures of the Nick Jr channel's greatest cash cow franchises as they go on marvelous new adventures to help kids snuggle down to bedtime. This series follows the adventures of Blue's Clues, Dora the Explorer, PAW Patrol and Blaze and the Monster Machines.

And finally on Thursday, May 16th, this date will see the release of the new original Blue's Clues franchise podcast series Blue's Clues & You! Let's Guesss Who with Josh & Blue (Season 1, 10 episodes) which follows Josh and Blue as they make up another one of their cheesy game show bootlegs to help children develop deductive reasoning skills to guess the identity of the show's famous characters.

It's currently unknown if these podcasts will be audio-only or have animated videos as well, despite the fact of animated footage appearing in the sizzle reel trailer released earlier this week.

The new additions join other favorite Nickelodeon preschool podcast series including Blue's CLues & You! Storytime with Josh and Blue and Noggin animated podcast series Alphabeats starring SiriusXM Kids Place Live radio station icon and GRAMMY¢-nominated children's music duo THe Pop Ups.

Animation Rehydrated - Warner Bros. Discovery Celebrates 100th Anniversary with Launch of NEW 24/7 Retro TV Channel MeTV Toons, Launching Tuesdfay, June 25th

 Since August 4th, 2022, Warner Bros. Discovery among other children's TV outlets have been making idiots out of themselves illegally removing titles from their own streaming services that the companies themselves own the rights to, as well as making tax write-offs and cancelling in-development projects for stupid reasons and trying to make unneccessary lost media out of some of their latest releases. But now, after two years of being lazy, David Zaslav has been fired and justice for the Warner Bros. catalog of animated classics has been served.

To cap off an eventful 100th centennial anniversary alongside their pals at their fellow contenders ratings rivals at The Walt Disney Company, Warner Bros. and Discovery Communications have joined forces with MeTV owner Weigel Broadcasting Corporation to make an all-new 24/7 retro channel that reunites all the best faces across Warner Bros., Hanna-Barbara and Cartoon Network alike.

The all-new channel dubbed MeTV Toons, is slated to hit linear and streaming airwaves acrossd the nation on Tuesday June 25th, 2024. The new channel is basically a carbon copy and modern-day version of the existing WB/CN sister channel Boomerang, which also includes modern-day reruns of all the great classic WB titles and some forgotten gems from the 1930s and beyond.

Although the library on the new network currently consists of only titles of cartoons owned by Warner Bros. Discovery and aired on either Disney Channel, Disney XD, Cartoon Network, Cartoonito, Boomerang, The CW, Adult Swim or their predecessors The WB, Kids' WB, Toon Disney, Jetix, UPN and Fox Kids, both sides are currently in talks to license other retro animated TV series from their lineup, including several titles from Disney's former exotic lions and Chinese zodiac partners at MGM, the company behind the Broadway staples The Wizard of Oz and Singing in the Rain, the former in which will enter the public domain in a few years time.

MeTV Toons is the latest offering of retro television for today's general audiences, following on the heels of the recently launched PBS Retro on Roku, the SVOD revivalof Noggin which will be shutting down on Tuesday July 2nd and the formerly broadcasted Vault Disney/Disney Replay and NickRewind blocks aired across Disney Channel and TeenNick respectively.

Nickelodeon To Shut Down Noggin Streaming App On Tuesday July 2nd

After 25 years on the air, Nickelodeon has once again had history stupidly repeating itself. The 2015 streaming app revival of its former Noggin preschool TV channel that ran from 1999-2012 is set to be shut down on Tuesday, July 2nd. All existing Noggin content including interactive games, play-along episodes, eBooks and the Nogginville Roblox/Minecraft game will be intergrated and migrated into Paramount+ under its new "Paramount+ with Noggin/Nick Jr." tier banners on Wednesday, July 3rd.

All active Noggin subscriptions will cease broadcasting transmission at the end of the month after the three-day Memorial Day weekend on Friday, May 31st and will no longer be billed. All active Noggin subscriptions and streaming app transmitters will be switched off permanently on July 2nd.

Bad Franchise = Good Reboot - Nickelodeon To Bow The Fairly OddParents' Third Generation on May 20th

 After ten years of being lazy and using unneccessary new characters like Poof, Sparky and Chloe that nobody cares about, Nickelodeon is finally giving revenge justice to one of, if not the worst children's television franchise ever made. Nickelodeon is set to premiere the twelfth season of The Fairly OddParents! on Monday, May 20th at 4:30pm/3:30c

The new sequel series - dubbed FOP: A New Wish, this time sees those lazy children Timmy Turner and his stupid sister Chloe getting killed and replaced by a new owner, a 10-year-old daughter named Hazel who must learn how to cope with the continuous suffering and decline of Cosmo and Wanda (who are voiced once again by Daran Norris and Suzanne Blakeside respectfully) as she has them granting more rehashed dream wishes than you can shake a Crocker at.

This isn't the first, nor the last time that Cosmo and Wanda have been resurfaced from the graveyard of the Nicktoons sister channel. In 2022, Nick and Paramount+ made a decent one-hit-wonder live-action version dubbed FOP: Fairly Odder which was unfortunately cancelled in February 2023 and the first of the illegal Paramount+ streaming service renewals, despite a second season being in production and winning the Best Live-Action Kids & Family TV Show category at last year's annual Nickelodeon's Kids Choice Awards, with this year's ceremony set for a July 13th release.

The Fairly OddParents!: A New Wish is the latest addition to Nickelodeon's growing lineup of reboots and revivals, supercharging its nostalgia franchises for 2024 and beyond, with this year's reboot offerings also including Dora the Explorer: Say Hola to Adventures! that premiered last month and the upcoming new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series Tales of the TMNT set to release on Friday, June 21st, kicking off the summer offerings across both Paramount linear and streaming channels.

Other new kids series set for release this summer include Channel 5 Milkshake UK's Milo set to make its USA debut on PBS Kids' website and Video app on May 13th, a reboot of the 2007 Disney Channel classic Phineas and Ferb, and three new original Disney series Primos, Ariel The Little Mermaid and ZOMBIES: The Reanimated Series due to release on June 26th and 28th respectively.

Other hot releases for this summer include new movies Big City Greens: Spacecation on June 6th, Descendants IV: The Rise of Red on July 12th and The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie 4: Sandy Cheeks Saving Bikini Bottom to be released on August 2nd.
