ZOOG Movies - ABC Freeform Caps Off Disney's Centennial Year with a Marathon of Classic Disney Channel DCOMs

 As the 100th year anniversary of The Walt Disney Company draws to a close in less than four months, the company's family and teens outlet ABC has cooked up some final just desserts for the occasion. For the entire month of June, Disney's sister network ABC Freeform, formerly known as the FOX/ABC Family Channel will be broadcasting a selection of both classic and modern Disney Channel original movies (or DCOMs for short).

This marathon month of movies comes as Disney Channel and Disney+ are about to premiere their latest DCOM masterpiece, The Big City Greens Movie: Spacecation which premieres on THursday, June 6th at 8:00pm/7c, followed by a sneak preview of the first all-new Disney Channel original series of 2024, ZOMBIES: The Re-Animated Series premiering on Friday, June 28th, the full half-hour version of the animated cartoon based on Disney Channel's 2018 MONStober Halloween movie franchise, which began as a series of shirts last July.

Some of the films listed will be newcomers to the network's daily movie slots, as these Disney Channel films from over the last 27 years have never aired on the Freeform channel before or since and will bring these classic DCOM titles home for a new generation of fans. Then Disney will later kick off the summer with a bang, with the worldwide linear television premiere of the classical music film to end all Baby Einstein DVDs. Disney will premiere both versions of the greatest classical music film for kids of all time, the legend that is FANTASIA.

Disney Channel, Disney Junior, Disney XD, Disney+, ABC, Freeform, ESPN+, Hulu and Max will simulcast the linear premiere of the two Fantasia movies in a special primetime broadcast slot hosted by Julie Aigner-Clark and Eric Weiner. Disney and Freeform will broadcast the original 1940s Fantasia on SAT June 22nd, followed by Fantasia 2000 on SAT June 29th.

In addition, Freeform will also premiere the 2020 DIsney and Pixar animated biography epic Soul on SAT June 29th. The film premiered on linear television earlier this year over on ABC during the network's annual The Wonderful World of Disney programming block, an anthology tentpole that has been running for over 70 years now, began by the late Walt Disney himself in October 1954.
