Yep, another television identity has just faked their death. The Walt Disney Company and UK children's cable TV channel Sky Kids have announced the welcome return of Disney Junior on cable television sets in the UK and Ireland beginning Thursday 13th November 2025. The relaunch of Disney Junior UK is the first time Disney precshool programs have been allowed on linear television in Great Britain since the channels originally closed back in October 2020 when Disney+, the company's SVOD and FAST channels were first taking off in the Disney Vault.
In the five years since, a lot of old and new programs have come and gone in the last five years since the painful coronavirus pandemic nightmare fuel in 2020. The new relaunched Disney Junior UK with the new acronym logo and Nord font branding introduced last summer in June 2024 will have a vibrant new look for today's cable crosses streaming TV generations.
When Disney Junior UK relaunches on Thursday, those with BBC licensing fees will be among the first in the region to see the British cable television debut of all the recent Disney Junior programs released in the five years since the channel shut down, including The Chicken Squad, Mickey Mouse Funhouse, MARVEL's Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends, Alice in Wonderland's Bakery, Me & Mickey, Eureka!, Firebuds, Pupstruction, Dino Ranch, Pikwik Pack, Kiva and the Kamoja Heroes, the new season of PJ Masks: Power Heroes, Playdate with Winnie the Pooh, Me & Winnie the Pooh, Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures, Kindergarten School Musical, SuperKitties and this year's newest Disney Junior releases, RoboGobo, MARVEL's Iron Man and his AWESOME Friends and the most highly anticipated preschool television reboot of all time, the welcome return of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+ 2.0 among others.
TheUK feeds of Playhouse Disney and Disney Junior were first launched in October 1997 and May 2011 respectively. Originally hosted with in-vision presenters like all other international feeds of Disney Channel and Nickelodeon at the time, the UK feeds of Disney's two signature preschool networks were originally hosted by Big Dave Benson Phillips and Little Alexandra Lovell with music and branding graphics designed by Michael Omar. Unlike its international counterparts, the Spanish Latin America version took on the classic USA branding in 2002, complete with Beehive graphics and both the Countryhouse and Triplex Sans/Placard Disney 2003 text fonts intact.
