Nick Jr.'s original host Face is back by popular demand. Nickelodeon is set to bring back its iconic '90s Nick Jr. mascot from 1994-2004 in the new half-hour music variety series Face' Music Party debuting Monday June 6th airing at 11am ET/10c. In the new series, the iconic Nick Jr. mascot host plays some of the internet's modern memes and pophits filled with more kid-friendly appeal and graphics to make these contemperary pop culture icons be age-appropiate for preschool children.
In the series premiere S01E01 "Robots/Imagination", Face will crank up the volume on some technologic creativity jams. Each episode will contain two separate 15-minute music parties each based on a certain topic such as robots, friendship, sharing, pirates and imagination. Each episode will include a kid-friendly music video, learning about one of the instruments and an epic dance party finale of each episode.
This show takes a similar format as being a Nick Jr. hilarious bootleg of the ever-expanding popular kindie pop-culture impersonation album series Kidz Bop which has been around since 2001. Although it's currently unknown what exact popular songs will be featured on the show, the trailer dropped yesterday confirms one of the songs featured will be "Safe & Sound" by the Capital Cities released in 2011.
The show announced back in March will have its first season compiled of 13 episodes with 26 batches of music to crank your TV stereo up to 11. The show will also air as part of Noggin and Nick Jr.'s new "Music Mondays" block which will air new episodes of the show alongside music and rock & roll episodes of other existing series in Nick's preschool catalog. It's unknown whether or not The BeatBuds: LET'S JAM! will return for a second season during this marathon as it also fits with that category. The "Music Mondays" marathon block will air Mondays during Nick Jr.'s summer schedule on the main Nickelodeon channel at 7am-12pm ET and will slam some encores with a s econd performance at 12-5pm on the separate Nick Jr. 24/7 channel. The series will run from June 6th-August 29th, 2022 airing Mondays at 11am.
Face' Music Party is one of the seven new preschool programs that Nickelodeon, Noggin, Nick Jr. and Paramount+ currently have in the pipeline for the 2022-2023 Nickelodeon Upfront Programming season. Studios' HexVet (first season of 20 episodes) the latter being the first preschool series in history to be based off a graphic novel series aimed at older children.
