(ARCHIVED 6/26) COME ON DOWN!!! - CBS Television City Shut Down & Demolished After 71 Years

 We have reached the end of a television era as CBS has shut down and destroyed its iconic Television City studios located at 7800 Beverly Blvd. and Fairfax Ave. in Hollywood, CA 90036. The studio will be renovated and turned into a shopping mall as early as next year.

The studio that brought us some of the most iconic game shows, talk shows and dramas including The Price is Right, Let's Make a Deal, Card Sharks, Match Game, Beat the Clock, Whose Line is it Anyway?, The Late Show, The Late Late Show, Family Feud, Wheel of Fortune, Tic Tac Dough, Password, Hollywood Squares, The Young and the Restless, The Bold and the Beautiful, American Pop Idol, Press Your Luck, The Money Pyramid, The Dating Game, High Rollers, America's Got Talent, Deal or No Deal and 1 vs. 100 is no more.

Since the studio's launch in 1952, it has given paveway to hundreds upon thousands of celebrities and national television icons including but not limited to Bob Barker, Drew Carey, Johnny Olson, Rod Roddy, Peter Tormaken, Todd Newton, Gene Rayburn, Martin Mohl, Joan Rivers, Whoopi Goldberg, Ellen DeGeneres, Wink Martindale, Art Fleming, Alex Trebek, Dick Clark, Ken Jennings, Don Pardo, Johnny Gilbert, Chuck Woolery, Pat Sajak, Vanna White, Shadoe Stevens, Jeffrey Tambor, John Moschita Jr., Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Bob Saget, Betty White, Brett Summers, Charles Nelson Reilly, Nipsey Russell, Fanny Flagg, David Lettermen, Craig Ferguson, James Corden, Paul Schaeffer, Stephen Colbert, Joe Cipriano, Rich Fields, Rachel Reynolds, Jim Lang, Rosie O'Donnell, Alan Luttin, Terry Crews, Regis Philbin, Ricki Lake, Wayne Brady, Monty Hall, Alec Baldwin, Jack Benny and George Grey

When The Price is Right returns for its 68th season in September 2023, it will be relocated to a new filming location at the Hayen Studios in Glendale, CA.
